Contemporary Dance Company in the Greater Los Angeles Area

Take a look inside our Company!

Welcome to our artistic exploration of dance, featuring original dance works and the talent of classical and contemporary ballet dancers, modern dancers, gymnasts and aerialists. Discover California Contemporary Ballet (CCBallet) in one of our full-scale productions held in large venues or in the intimate setting of our own theater. The innovative choreography and music is accompanied by beautiful costumes, sets and lighting design.

California Contemporary Ballet (CCBallet), is the resident company at California DanceArts, located in La Canada Flintridge, CA.

The Company’s annual signature ballet titled, “The Snow Queen”, is a delightful winter production starring the career members of California Contemporary Ballet (CCBallet), accompanied by the California Contemporary Youth Ballet (CCYBallet) and select dancers from the community, resulting in a cast of 60-70 dancers. Adapted for ballet, from the classic children’s story written by Hans Christian Andersen, the production features the dramatic choreography of Aerin Holt which is performed to the beautiful original musical score composed by Randall Michael Tobin. The Company has been fortunate to establish Glendale Community College as its current home for the ballet and has become a community favorite for the holidays by offering the public a pleasant alternative to The Nutcracker.

“Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.”
